Sourcing Specialist - Senior
Description
We are looking for a talented Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our team specializing in sales for our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Conducts complex analysis of markets, supply chains, and supply base; applies analysis to sourcing process improvement initiatives. Identifies qualified suppliers and executes sound source selection processes.
Has regular interface with suppliers within area of responsibility and maintains the supplier relationship. Understands how key purchasing principles are used toward assuring supply.

Business insight - Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.
Negotiations Excellence - Utilizes tools and methods in negotiations to achieve Cummins stakeholder objectives and achieve a mutually agreed upon all contract terms between all parties.
Supplier Relationship Management - Manages strategic supplier using agreed process with established work plan, senior sponsor meetings, and scorecards; defines and evaluates a collaborative relationship with a Category Partners List supplier to deliver value to Cummins and the supplier.
Intellectual Property Management - Assures protection of Cummins Intellectual Property within the supply base and partners with suppliers to optimize the use of their intellectual property for Cummins future competitive advantage by engaging the legal function; assures appropriate separation of Cummins' inventors from Supplier Intellectual Property to avoid Intellectual Property poisoning that could inhibit Cummins' ability to freely invent.
Experience Required:
4 to 5 Years of experience within related engineering/Manufacturing field (Sourcing/Buying)
Instrumentation within field (Strong asset)
Experience with Fabrication, welded assemblies (Strong asset)
Ability to understand, improve and follow purchasing procedures
Working with suppliers on improving delivery and quality performance
Budgeting for cost saving and building list of projects to achieve targeted cost reduction and then implement projects
Ability to work with cross functional group to resolve issues and improve process
Understanding category spend and buying habits and building safety stocks to improve supply
Working with internal and external stakeholders to create plan for future to meet business goals
Build strong relationships with all stakeholders
Must have strong understanding of complete P2P process
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- College, university, or equivalent degree in field appropriate for the function required (Engineering)
