MEA Research Scientist - Proton Exchange Membrane
We are looking for a talented PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) MEA Research Scientist to join our Fuel Cell R&D team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell power systems technology for our # NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
Work within the fuel cell R&D department, the successful candidate will focus on the membranes’ down selection for our advanced fuel cell products.
Communicate with membranes, CCMs and MEA suppliers, design and down select its subcomponents.
Characterize membranes and MEAs to determine failure modes and propose mitigation strategies.
Work proactively with stack designers to ensure smooth and proper interface and integration of MEA within the stack.
Analyze, interpret and summarize testing data.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Masters or PhD in a chemistry related discipline.
2 Years of experience on membranes for PEM Fuel Cells or Electrolyser
In-depth knowledge of PEM membrane’s structures, properties as well as the effects to the performance and durability.
Knowledge and experience of polymer chemistry and characterization skills, an asset.
Experience of electrochemical diagnostic methods (EIS, CV, LSV etc.) an asset.
Global industrial/organizational experience in the PEM fuel cell an asset.
Strong hands-on lab skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with structured problem solving methods.
