Director of Operations, Site Leader


We are looking for a talented Director of Operations, Site Leader to join our team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyzer technology for our # NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Directs, manages, and leads a cross functional team to ensure speed, dependability, and efficiency in plant operations.

  • Directs and manages relationships to meet customer needs.

  • Directs and manages all plant functions to meet deliverables and drive improvements.

  • Directs the use of Cummins values, processes, and procedures, including promoting the right environment.

  • Coaches and develops plant staff.

  • Directs the development of strategies and goals to meet the overall business unit and enterprise objectives.

  • Directs the impacts between the plant and the overall Supply Chain.

  • Drives internal and external cross-functional interactions.

  • Drives community involvement.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Advanced degree an asset.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a site leader role in a medium to large size manufacturing facility.

  • Prior experience in operations for a manufacturing and R&D facilities an asset.

  • Prior P&L responsibilities an asset.

  • Experience in the manufacturing automotive, heavy-duty mobility manufacturing, or molding manufacturing market.

  • Experienced with running large scale operations projects in a matrix large organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.

  • Continuous Improvement/ Lean/ Six Sigma Practitioner.

  • Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
